The Christmas Angels program matches local families with sponsors who can provide toys and clothing to children during the holiday season.
In 2022, the Christmas Angels program matched 425 families for a total of 1,129 children with sponsors who provided toys and clothing for the holiday season. United Way of Johnson County also partnered with several community organizations to assist the remaining 77 children from 28 families who were not directly sponsored to be sure that all children who needed assistance received holiday gifts.

How you can help Johnson County families for Christmas
There are two ways to assist families in Johnson County through the Christmas Angels program.
1. Serve as a Family Sponsor to directly purchase gifts for children in a particular family or families. Family Sponsors can be individuals, families, service groups, neighborhoods, business, faith-based groups, etc. who provide Christmas assistance for particular children in the community.
For more information on serving as a Family Sponsor, please click on the Family Sponsor Information Sheet.
2. Serve as a Gift Sponsor to provide toy and gift items for the Angel Tree Store. Each year we have more families apply for assistance than we do sponsors. In order to serve all families who qualify, Gift Sponsors provide items for the Angel Tree Store so that parents whose children are not matched to a sponsor can come and pick out gifts for their children.
