Economic Assistance Plan

United Way is partnering with several local organizations to provide services for families who have recently lost their jobs or have had a significant loss of income due to the economy. This program helps families find resources and financial assistance throughout Johnson County to help them through their struggling times. It also provides educational opportunities for families to learn effective ways to better manage financial resources.

~ From its beginning in August 2009 through May 2010, the Economic Assistance Plan has provided assistance to 269 individuals from 84 families. The program has paid out over $190,000 in financial assistance.

~ Quote from an Economic Assistance Plan client: “I am very thankful for all the help I received. It made the stress of not having a job go away or not sting as bad. I hope to someday give back because of this blessing I have received.”
